Clerkenwell Design Week Fringe: Made in Clerkenwell

Anyone in London this week with an interest in design should try and check this out. On at Craft Central, spread across two buildings with around 90 designers on show and sale (their works, not the designers themselves – times are tough but hopefully not that tough), Made In Clerkenwell is part of the Clerkenwell Design Week Fringe. It gives a chance for members of the public to go ‘behind-the-scenes’ and see the artists and designers at work – a unique shopping experience! Tickets cost £2.50 (free for under 16s) and allow entry to both buildings across all four days. Tonight was the launch night, but tomorrow there’s late night shopping til 8pm, and the weekend gives you another chance to get down there between 12-6pm. I’m up to my eyeballs in preparation for my final performance examination next week (a short play I’ve written, designed and directed), otherwise you’d be seeing me there!

Here are the links to the websites of just a few of the designers that will be there:

Ali Miller – Ceramics and Interior Products

Emma Bradbury – Textiles

Alison Brent – Ceramics (I especially like her furniture knobs!)

Martin Horgan – Furniture/Product Design

Vic Lee – Printmaking
